The European Power Analyst will provide fundamental analysis of European power market drivers needed for proprietary analytical models and tools that generate daily market intelligence reports for distribution to customers. He/she will also be responsible for collecting the results and communicating with clients, who are active in the short-term markets.
Job Responsibilities
Daily recalibration and predictive runs of proprietary model representing a specific geographic power market.
Fundamental analysis of market drivers that support and inform the modeling process.
Generate daily market intelligence reports for distribution to the customer base.
Perform daily briefing calls to customers that cover report content and identify market risks.
Provide ongoing analysis proprietary to individual cusomers upon request.
Work an early morning shift that may start at 6 a.m. (or slightly earlier) depending on market needs.
Continually update and improve process and analytics.
Education, Experience, Requirements
Diploma/master level degree in engineering or economics discipline.
Minimum of one to two years of energy market experience.
Experienced user of Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication of technical information to colleagues.
Data and web research skills.
Persistent attention to detail.
Good teamwork skills essential.
Effective working level in English, written and spoken.
Preferences
Experience with generation asset management and optimization, import and export scheduling and pricing, cross-country basis trading analysis, understanding of the relationship between the gas and power markets.
Experience with power flow modeling and VBA programming.
Additional European languages, in particular German.
Curious personality, interested in a small but fast growing company in the energy sector.
