| Job Description: |
Teaching English in Vietnam requires, in general, a four-year college degree in any subject, and preferably a TEFL/CELTA certificate. While certification is not necessary, it will increase your chance of landing a good job. We also recommend a working knowledge of the Vietnamese language, but only for your own comfort and peace of mind.
Volunteers will work as teachers and assistants. The money raised in this project will be distributed in two ways. Part will go directly to a charity fund and distributed to victims of poisonous dioxin and other disadvantaged people and part will be used to fund conservation projects.
This program links to our sponsorship for disadvantaged children and charities program, which means that volunteers will have to right to know exactly where their money goes, and can contact to the disadvantaged children to whom they have sponsored even when they come back to their country. There are three levels for volunteers:
Level 1:
- Volunteer length: at least 3 months
- Work hours: at least 5 hours per day, 5-6 days per week – working time is restricted
- Work place: public center, international school
- Volunteer fee: $0
- Stipend: $300 per month
Level 2:
- Volunteer length: at least 3 months
- Work hours: 3-4 hours per day, 5-6 days per week – working time is more flexible
- Work place: public center, international school, orphan school, street children school
- Volunteer fee: $0
Level 3:
- Volunteer length: less than 10 weeks
- Work hours: 3-4 hours per day, 5-6 days per week – working time is more flexible
- Work place: public center, orphan school, street children school
- Volunteer fee: $450 per month or $150 per week
We are also looking for volunteers who are able to teach foreign languages other than English such as French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese etc.
