| Job Description: |
• Responsible for the day to day drilling operations within his area.
• Liaison between operator`s local drilling group and Operations Managers to insure operator`s drilling program is successfully completed.
• Works with General Manager and contract personnel in preparing bids, negotiates day rates and settlements with operators.
• Coordinates all rig and equipment movement into and within his area.
• Reviews, approves and submits capex requests for equipment, materials and spare parts to general manager. Coordinates shipment once approved by corporate management.
• Confers and cooperates with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. (Best Practice Teams)
• Insures operations are conducted in a safe and professional manner in accordance with company`s safety, health & environmental prevention program, preventive maintenance program and operation policies and procedures.
• Responsible for and participates in training of rig personnel in proper work related activities. This is coordinated with Operations Managers. Set-up with in-house technical training department, safety department and outside agencies.
• Must be versatile and knowledgeable in all types of drilling equipment.

Skills Required:: |
• High School Graduate/College a Plus
• Must have completed courses in Management Training, Well Control Training, Stuck Pipe School, Drill String Management, Preventive Maintenance, Mud Conditioning Equipment, Bit`s and BHA Training, Downhole Tools & Test.
• Requires a minimum of 15 years experience with a drilling contractor.
o Five years of this service as a roustabout, floorhand, motorhand and have a minimum of one year service at the position of a derrickhand.
o Five years of this service as a rig manager, rig superintendent, field superintendent and one year of service at the position of area superintendent.
