Solaris Systems Administrator ¡V Warsaw - Poland

Key Responsibilities:
„X System Management
„X Responsible for a variety of hardware from HP and Sun, running Linux and Solaris respectively
„X Ownership of trouble tickets and user requests
„X Direct liaison with business users and application development groups
„X Performance monitoring and review
„X Capacity planning
„X Business-driven application deployment
„X Tight control of the environment including conformance with standard controls checks and procedures
„X COB testing and documentation
„X Procedural checks
„X Reduction of faults, Root Cause Analysis
„X Hardware Standards
„X Production Handover
„X EMC storage set-up & testing
„X Core hours of cover are Mon-Sat 7am-7pm on a rota basis with 24/7 on-call escalation

Skills Required:: |
Knowledge/Experience:
„X 3-5 years Unix Systems Administration experience in Solaris-based environments
„X Knowledge of Sun hardware up to and including Sun F15/25k Frames
„X Experience of customer support in a time-critical environment
„X Experience of a financial services environment highly desirable
„X Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
„X Experience of working in a heavily controls-focused environment highly desirable
Skills:
„X Thorough understanding of Solaris operating systems and associated tools
„X Perl and shell-scripting skills
„X Standard office automation products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
„X Experience of supporting servers in an EMC storage environment
„X Experience with Veritas HA Foundation Suite - Volume Manager, File system, and Cluster Server.
„X Veritas product suite
„X Experience of middleware products such as Connect-Direct, MQ-Series, Websphere, Iplanet, Weblogic highly advantageous
„X TCP/IP and networking experience
„X Knowledge and understanding of NIS+
„X Solaris qualifications a significant advantage
