Shane English School in Hangzhou is looking for teachers to start work in Nov/Dec 2009 or Jan/Feb 2010.
We are a private language school that caters for students of all ages. The majority of our classes tend to be for children between the ages of 7 and 14. That said, we also have kindergarden classes and some adult classes.
Our aim is to teach our students English in as fun and interactive way as possible. Our classes are very lively and hands-on and we pride ourselves on the fact that the students genuinly enjoy coming to our school and make real progress.
You will be contrated to teach for 72 hours a month. In addition to this, there will be planning time and time spent at the school for training and meetings.
Our classes contain no more than 18 students. The lessons last 90 minutes (with a ten minute break).
As our school is private, most of our classes are on the weekends. Teachers tend to have either Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday as their days off. There are 22 paid days of holiday every year.
We mainly concentrate on our students` oral skills but are also sure to include all aspects of the English language in our classes.
When you arrive in Hangzhou, you will be fully trained and introduced to the school before you start a full schedule of teaching.
Currently, we have seven teachers hailing from England, USA, Australia and Canada. They are a really friendly team and we are all close. I like to think that one of the best things about working here is the atmosphere in the school. Our students enjoy coming here and our teachers have great fun doing their jobs.
The monthly salary for a new teacher starts at 6600RMB. This figure can increase to 6850RMB for certified TEFL/CELTA teachers and to 7100RMB for experienced teachers. Those with experience and qualifications can be offered up to 7350RMB a month.
In addition to this, we offer a range of contractual bonuses and rebates for things like flight tickets and insurance. We also pay bonuses based on student retention and overall performance.

Ideally, we are looking for a university graduate with either ESL/EFL teaching experience or certification. However, we know that qualifications aren`t everything and that personality and attitude are the most important factors. Therefore, we are happy to consider any outstanding candidate, regardless of educational history. |
