| Job Description: |
1 Identifies, analyses and reviews the learning needs of nurses in consultation with the medical staff and in relation to the needs of patients.
2 Plans, implements and evaluates the learning plan for nurses.
3 Assesses, reviews and develops education curricula to meet the nursing educational needs.
4 Organises and co-ordinates in-house nursing education programmes to develop skills required for the needs of the centre.
5 Organises and co-ordinates external education programmes that will develop the hospital as a centre of excellence
6 Conducts orientation and induction and core programmes for new employees.
7 Provides on-the-job teaching/coaching and supervision at designated areas.

Skills Required:: |
1 Energetic, and challenged by opportunities to develop systems, training programmes and materials from scratch.
2 Demonstrable enthusiasm for teaching, education, and to the raising of clinical and performance standards among nursing staff.
3 Commitment to act as a mentor / preceptor to nursing staff
