| Job Description: |
The ideal incumbent will have:
· Applied knowledge of advanced geotechnical/materials site investigation techniques and associated soil and rock testing methods.
· Applied knowledge of the properties and behaviour of soils and rocks, including problematic soils, bearing capacity, settlement and slope stability.
· Be familiar with the requirements of the subject heading OHASA and Construction Regulations relevant to materials and geographical investigations.
Key Performance Areas:
q Duties will include planning, implementation and reporting of geotechnical and material source investigations for roads, dams, housing developments and other infrastructure.
q Prospecting for, assessment and evaluation of road construction materials.
q Project management of geotechnical and materials related projects.
q Preparation of tenders, proposals and quotations.

Skills Required:: |
A BSc Eng with extensive geotechnical experience / Honours degree in Engineering Geology.
· A minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
· Registered Professional Natural Scientists and preferably a member of the SAIEG or Pr Eng and preferably SAICE, Geotechnical Division.
