Our client, located near the Connecticut shore offers a full-time, direct hire, permanent job opportunity.
This role you will be responsible for supporting and implementing Microsoft SQL Server databases by maintaining database availability, integrity, performance, reliability and security. This position also provides guidance and support to customers and team members in the most effective use of relational databases and the data.

Qualifications/requirements
-this position requires 24 X 7 support.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field of study is required (equivalent work experience in information technology, minimum of 5 years, accepted in place of Bachelors)
- 3 years work experience in system implementations, upgrades and maintenance activities is required
- 1 year experience with SQL Server database administration functions required
- Systems analysis, logical and physical database design experience
- Writing stored procedures, functions and triggers in T-SQL and/or other database programming languages
- Minimum of 5 years overall experience in an information technology support role is required
- Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS administration training and experience preferred
- As a condition of employment, the SQL Server DBA must pass the MCTS Microsoft SQL Server 2005 70-431 exam (Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Implementation and Maintenance) within 3 months (if not already attained prior to hire).
- The employee must attain their Mcitp Sql Server 2005 certification (exam 70-443 and exam 70-444) within two years of acquiring their MCTS SQL Server 2005 certification (within two years of being hired if they already have their MCTS SQL Server 2005 certification).
