| Job Description: |
The Quality Technician shall be responsible for all planning of day to day quality inspections and ensure that the entire management function of all inspections takes place. Compile reports and maintain statistics for all completed inspections and assist in compiling As-Built documentation. Develop quality control checklists for all products supplied or installed.
Duties:
- Compile contract specific quality, safety and health plans with objectives and standards.
- Provide the systems, procedures and methods, train users, audit compliance, report deviances and suggest and monitor corrective actions where implemented.
- Provide advice to line management on all quality, safety, health and environmental issues.
- Carry out Workshop Releases as per drawings and specifications (QA and TQM).
- Inspection of all site works and evaluation of Quality Standards against customers’ specifications.
- Plan and carry out all inspections and tests for all manufactured materials.
- Produce monthly reports with inspection statistics and progress on large projects.
- Compile project Quality Assurance plans.
- Review Certificates of Conformance.

Work Experience Required
- Have a thorough knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality, Iso 14000 Environment, Sabs 1200 Standards, Sabs 0142-1 Electrical Installations, Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
- Knowledge of all legislation and regulations for Quality, Safety, Health and Environment.
- Safety and environmental risks.
- Should have a general knowledge of various inspection and testing methods.
- Knowledge of the GSM industry, manufacturing and installations/erections (civil, electrical and mechanical).
- GSM knowledge an advantage.
- Auditing experience.
