    Part of the pioneer finance team responsible for the setting up of the finance centre in Malaysia. Responsible for the migration of Hong Kong finance work back to Malaysia, reporting directly to the Hong Kong Country Controller.

    - Provides comprehensive financial analysis and consulting to business units and industry managers.
    - Provide financial services and consulting on processes, programmes and project, primarily to business managers, execute month-end close processes and contribute to planning, forecast and trend analysis.

    - Check and validate pricing deals and update pricing details if necessary in accordance with HP pricing guidelines, before submitting to respective business units’ managers for approval.

    Financial Analyst Ibm Oct 2007 – July 2008

    Responsible for the analysis of revenue forecast, budget, actual and business dynamics for the global financing operations in the ASEAN region (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand), reporting to the ASEAN CFO.

    - Designs, prepares and presents detailed analysis of business issues and recommend solutions to senior management.
    - Monitor and track execution of roadmap actions to meet financial objectives and goals laid down in the region’s yearly budget.

    Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with in country team and functional teams to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts. Analyzed and reconciled up to 30 accounts monthly with an average of 350 line transactions per account. Posted high volumes receipts, payments, treasury funds, and intercompany payments and receipts on a monthly basis.

    - Resolve general accounting and reporting issues.
    - Identify, recommend and implement solutions for all re-engineering projects which led to a significant reduction in open items aged >90days.
    - Prepare, analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts with its subsidiary ledger.
    - Perform self-inspection on work areas and implement measures to ensure compliance with IBM accounting and country practices & guidelines.
    - Assist in helping the team achieve satisfactory control rating for corporate audit, SOX compliance, peer review and PwC audit.
    - Work closely with in-country Treasury team on the movement and allocations of treasury funds.
    - Manage and handle migration of individual countries (Hong Kong and Singapore) accounting back to the accounting centre in Malaysia
    - Cut accountant journal booking time by over 10 hours per month by simplifying working spreadsheets.
    - Reduced clerical workload of manually inputting data, by embedding formulas in spreadsheets to automatically pick up data.


    External Auditor Kpmg Jan 2005 – Apr 2005

    To work as part of an audit team for conducting external audits for clients. Audited large accounts such as Carrefour, Zublin International and World of Sports.

    - Prepare draft audit reports on the findings including recommendation of corrective and preventive actions.
    - Undertake ad-hoc audit, investigation and other assignments as directed by Manager and Seniors of the Audit Department
    - Ensure assignments are completed within set deadline and to achieve Company’s annual audit plans.
    - Assisted in various other external audit fieldwork
    - Managing a small audit project for a small maintenance management company.
