Financial professional with almost 10 years of experience in an industry leader, looking for an opportunity to use his knowledge and experience to help fight poverty in Balkan region.
During the past nine years, I studied Finance at the University of Pittsburgh, first obtaining a Bachelors degree in 2003 and then an MBA in 2006. The emphasis of my studies was to learn and understand the fundamental principles that govern modern day finance and investment management. In addition, I also learned about other diverse topics such as management, political science, social studies, and economics, I found the last topic, economics, to be very interesting and exciting, because one of my career aspirations is to participate in the economical development of countries in transition as well of those that recently emerged from wars and other crisis.
No education is complete without experience. At same time as I was working on my education, I was also working full-time for a global financial corporation that is a world leader in financial management and asset servicing. Armed with a solid understanding of academic principles, I was able to adapt and modify the theoretical constructs as required and applied them in real life business situations in order to meet my employers needs. As I was moving on with my studies, I also received several promotions at my work. Currently, I am working as Portfolio Manager, managing financial assets for some of the wealthiest families in United States, as well as assets for few large non-profit foundations and endowments.
I fully recognize that todays political, economic, and technological environments are constantly changing, and thus business professionals need to be able to adapt quickly and accurately to the new conditions. I'm seeking a professional opportunity where my practical skills and exceptional background can benefit an organization that is well positioned to assist countries develop private sector, and adopt modern business practices.
In addition to my educational background and vast experience from private sector, I am familiar with Bosnian culture, political/economical situation in Balkans, and I am fluent in Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian.
