1) Managing Director to `Web Graphica Sheet Fed Ltd`. Enfield North London U.K
Harris heat set web and Rolland Record six colour sheet fed. Heidelberg 102 six colour speed master with dedicated coating unit. I went all over Europe print testing these presses before I shipped them over. Brought the Rolland in Scotland from Mr Allan White. White printing agents Ltd
Magazine printing work. Web would print text sheets and sheet fed would print covers and any centre spreads.
Placed on stitch and trim or perfect bind depending on GSM of cover. I also had a direct mail in house operation with laser over printing on the pre printed sheets. (6 years)
Sold company with partner due to his wife`s Use the Apply Online Box below in car accident and my wife having our Daughter I wanted to enjoy my money and time with Wife and Daughter.
2) Works Director to `Carlton Factory` East London U.K
This was a carton food printing company that also printed litho and U.V
Main account was Twinnings Tea and Birds eye.
Had seven printing presses. Roland Ultra Six Four colour printing Double demi and folio which is nearly double the sheet size of 1020x720mm being B1 size which is today`s large format. Introduced Silk Screen printing to the company first hand bench then Svecia semi and fully automatic presses. I found a gap in the market for this line of printing in certain requirements of carton printing that customers wanted. Set it up and Teach minders how to make stencils and repro to printing.
Manns fast five Crabtree souvring and manns two colour. Finishing was made up of Bobs and platen or Heidelberg cylinder cutting and creasing. The cut out products were then placed on folders with gluing units.
This company was closed down due to owners Use the Apply Online Box below and family wishing to sell all works and machines.

3) Works Production Manager `Spring Bourne Press` Basildon Essex U.K
This company produced magazines on Heidelberg web and Goss Headliner webs. Had three sheet fed presses and mullah Martina six stage stitch and trim plus folder machines, collating machines, guillotines. I installed reverse osmosis system here as PH balance was bad. water would come from one source in the morning and another in the afternoon. I implemented the ISO printing requirements for the company for obtaining the Blue Chip Customers requirements. Had Tharstans installed in company for productivity to costing and quotation data base systems. I was head hunted by the Owner from Carlton Factory for Higher position. Handed in my notice after (3.5 years) The Chairman was an alcoholic and I can not stand that in people I work for.
4) Quality control Machine room and finishing Manager ` Circle services Southend-On-Sea Essex
Was in charge of ALL Machines Minders and Finishers. Responsible for all machine Passes and Quality for Blue Chip clients. Making sure all work run to time scale and worked closely with Paper stores manager and Repro Managers to have in place all needed. Lead the morning meetings with the owner and the team for planning pre press lay outs as to costing and production times. Met My To be Now Wife here as she was Chief Estimator and moved into production team (2.5 Years) Left as head hunted by Mr. Frank Snowden Chairman of company Spring Bourne Press. Wife Stayed at company until we were married in 2000 then she came to work for me !
5) Worked in Fleet street on 3 night week shift as Minder on Goss, Crabtree, hoe webs.
I worked free lance as my Father was a director in Fleet street for the Mirror Group News Papers. He introduced me to managers and they gave me the chance of working free lance under the NGA printing rules and standards I gained.
On my days off I worked in a silk screen company helping out a friend that started one up and other days would take sailing exams and Diving as I love the sea and boats.
I worked in every news paper company in fleet street since leaving Collage at the London school of printing where I gained the highest grade for Printing `City and Guilds` In Repro Graphic, Finishing, litho, web, silk screen, Letter press and much more. (3 years at College 5 years in Fleet street)
I left Fleet street as the industry was going down hill and went for an interview as Quality manager for Circle services closer to home.
After having 27 years experience in all types of printing, I have not listed all I know or have achieved as I am trying to keep this short and to the point. | started of as aprentist Minder, then over 27 years worked my way up to the highest positions. I have done everything from being a sales rep to printer to finisher to repro, estemate, production, Quality control, machine room manager,works manager,production manager works director, G.M of company. Litho Graphic,Silk Screen,Flexo Graphic,Web size Main/Half/3/4 reel sizes with 80% of web make presses. I have run every make of Litho press from A4 size/ B3/B2/B1/and crown demi. I mean every make of press. Trouble shooter in every department with the skills to keep the deadlines met. I never fail if it is humanly possible. Was a Printing consultant over a period of ten years to non direct competative companies. I love what I know and do best. |
