Completed 9 years service period in Urban Development Authority and having 9 years experience in Urban Environmental Management and Planning in various projects such as:
(i) Project Manager for the treasury funded Sanitary Composting Pilot Projects being carried out by UDA at Kalutara, Mawanella, Dambulla and Kataragama. These pilot projects are out come of 3 years research conducted by University of Peradeniya, Metropolitan Environmental Improvement Program (MEIP) and Urban Development Authority (UDA).

Completed 3 years service period in Coastal Resources Management Project as a Project Implementation Unit Manager in Special Area Management Site Bar Reef Kalpitiya and Deputy Project Manager Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Coastal Environmental Resources Management Component of the ADB funded Coastal Resources Management Project implemented by Coast Conservation Department Under the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources.
Under This ADB and Netherlands Government funded project, 8 Coastal Environmental Improvement Programmes in 8 Special Area Management (SAM) Sites (from Kalpitiya To Hambanthota) being implementing at the 8 locations along the Coastal belt in island. Following Major interventions are being carried out in this component.
Establishment of Local level Management committees and bodies including Government agencies and NGOs for Managing the Environment in Local level
Preparation of Environmental Profiles and Special Area Management Plans for the respective area.
Planning and implementation of Habitat Improvement interventions at the 8 sites consist of Coral Reefs, Lagoons, Estuaries, Mangrove Forests, Sand Bars Mashers, Wetlands and Sea Grass and Sea Weed beds.
Conducting awareness Building programmes within the SAM areas for improve the knowledge and changing the attitudes of the local community on conservation and Management of Environment.
Conducting Social Development programs at the sites such as water Supply projects Improve the Common amenities Establishment of Visitors /Community Centers at the Coastal Area, Livelihoods development programmes, Solid Waste Management
Projects, projects for improve the living conditions of the local Community and conducted the immediate relief missions for Tsunami effected Areas.
Out of this field interventions , Preparation of tender Documents for the development projects, Handling contracts, procuments, ,preparation of TORs for the development activities, participating Technical Evaluation Committees (TEC) conducting Monitoring and Evaluations and staff administration were carried out by me in this Project.
As a consultant, World Bank funded Health Sector Development Project, served as a Provincial Coordinator Southern Province. Responsibilities were taken to Planning and implementation of Health Care Waste management activities within the hospital system in southern Province. Planning and implementation being progress to establish Health Care Waste Management activities around 75 Hospitals in Southern Province.
As s Environmental Specialist in World Bank funded Puttalam Housing Project under the Ministry of Resettlement Environmental Assessments done for 121 Housing Projects to construct permanent houses for internal displaced people living in Puttalam District.
As a Waste management Consultant in SCOTIA waste management project coordinated the Hikkaduwa Solid Waste management Project which is implementing by the Hikkaduwa Urban Council and USAID.
