General Purpose of the position
This position is responsible for local content development, product development, Environment, Health & Safety operations within the plant.
Duties and responsibilities
Train, develop and evaluate employees in the Eng, QEHS department
Develop and maintain ISO standards and GMEA procedures for both the Environment (ISO 14001:2004) and Quality management system (ISO 9001:2000).
Plan, schedule and monitor performance of internal audits for both the EMS and QMS.
Prepare reports and maintain records of internal and surveillance audits and follow-up on closing of corrective action request
Coordinate ISO coordinators meetings and management review meetings.
Develop, Implement and maintain health & safety procedures as per local and corporate requirements.
Drive compliance with established safety procedures and safety requirements through observations, compliance audits, and coordination of reviews, safety programs, feedback and follow-ups of corrective action.
Generate daily/weekly/Monthly/quarterly/annual reports on PE, QEHS and ensure communications to relevant sections is done on a timely basis. Ensure regional reports are accurate and sent on time.
Carry out waste handling supplier audit and provide feedback to management.
Carry out annual Environmental self audit (EMCA) and safety audits
Ensure company compliance to all applicable legal and other requirements applicable to EHS.
Plan and implement GMEA annual health & safety week.
Attend monthly regional conference call meetings and face to face meetings
Develop vehicle specifications for new models being introduced to the GMEA product line-up.
Identify potential suppliers of local content, carry out source audits, develop suppliers and monitor their quality performance.
Validate local parts samples, prepare and maintain inspection routings. Review and approve as necessary engineering deviations requests by suppliers.
Create and maintain an updated Bill of Materials for all models
Control storage of Engineering drawings and samples
Review and update Internal Control Procedures as necessary for the section.
Carry out product testing and evaluation. Control test units.
Processing of product change requests (PCRs) and field problem resolution (FPR).
Carry out problem analysis and resolution using the 7 diamonds, PFMEA & 5 WHY process tools and carry out peer review meetings to address all product concerns.
Develop local solutions as part of the product localization process on all issues that are unique to GMEA market.
