April 2008 – Present: Yesmail / Team Lead – Client Services Engineering
In this position I lead a small team to architect and implement custom solutions for Yesmail`s clients. As a team lead I am a point of escalation and am empowered to make technical decisions based on organizational standards and guidelines. Design responsibilities include writing formal engineering specifications and developing time estimates for implementation. I also supervise the work of team members to insure that engineering efforts produce high quality, low maintenance, and scalable solutions for clients.
March 2007 – March 2008: Pointandship Software, Inc. / Database Administrator - Developer
Working as DBA on Pointandship’s billing and application databases. Main tasks include taking current manual billing processes and automating those using SQL Server SSIS packages. The processes involve grabbing data files from ftp sites, filtering and transforming them and loading them into the database. SSIS packages are compiled of Transact SQL, various functions and scripting programs. A lot of the job involves tracking down and resolving problems related to data transfers, database anomalies and any other tasks associated with the billing processes. Other then these, perform regular DBA tasks such as backup/restore, database maintenance, etc.
August 2005 – February 2007: Independent Programmer Contracting
Working as an independent contractor for Redwood Trust. After moving to Europe in 08/2005 I continued doing similar projects and maintaining current code for Redwood Trust which is described below. Tasks included: maintenance of application java code as well as the back-end SQL Server code and schema (stored procedures, DTS packages, UDF’s, triggers, etc.). As well as maintenance, I performed issue analysis and resolution and addition of new functionalities to the system (new drop downs, new data attributes, scripting, etc.). All the work was performed remotely through VPN.
September 2002 – August 2005: Redwood Trust, Inc., Mill Valley CA / Database Application Developer
This position required a strong understanding of DBMS and data management principles and excellent understanding of coding standards and development lifecycle. My main duties included: Database programming such as stored procedures, queries, and report generation, front-end programming such as client-server, system integration, and web-based solutions and scripting tool experience such as Korn/Bourne shell, and Unix utilities.
Worked on front-end web based trade application. The application is used to keep track of trading and settling of securities. The application was written using JSP, and Java using the MVC model.

Netcentives provides email marketing programs and customer loyalty programs for clients. Some of the more known clients included: Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Palm, and Hewlett Packard.
As a core member of project teams, developed Internet software solutions to drive our clients’ email marketing programs. Used Java and JavaScript as front-end on ATG Dynamo dynamic web pages to collect clients’ data. Set up import and export data transfers using various methods including FTP, email, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, SCP. Wrote and maintained scripts in PLSQL and Korn Shell to filter incoming and outgoing data. Maintained Oracle databases which included creating, modifying and updating clients’ tables.
Responsibilities included working with Account Managers to analyze the technical requirements of our clients’ programs.
Developed specifications for custom components, integrated client data and developed tailored solutions based on email marketing technologies.

TRW Information Systems and Technology Group contracted with the U.S. Government to provide interpreters for the Balkan region.
Interpreted for SFOR forces throughout the country (Serbo-Croatian interpretation). Translated verbally in meetings as well as documents using computers and various types of software. Involved in high level / high stress meetings and situations including war time negotiations.
Summer 1998: Cleveland OH / Independent Programmer
Designed and developed a program called Steps during summer of 98 in Cleveland, Ohio. Designed application using Visual Basic 5. The program calculated the amount of material needed for building various types of staircases. It calculated the material, cost and type of product that was needed. It also incorporated a fully designed relational database, which kept track of the raw materials and prices. A second database kept track of customer quotes and information. After completion of program, I aided the customer with program implementation.
Summer 1998: United Nations OHR, Drvar, Bosnia / Computer Administrator
The UN Office of the High Representative was established in Bosnia to help implement the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Worked as a computer administrator for OHR in Drvar, Bosnia during summer of 1998.
Maintained the computers in the office and responsible for other administrative tasks such as developing work schedules for other workers in the office and keeping track of their work time. Also helped other workers interpret documents and news media.
