I am a Final Year undergraduate student followed B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying Honors Degree in the
University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. I have successfully completed my Degree course and I’m waiting
for a job and I’m wishing to apply for the above post in your firm. I have eight months working
experience in construction industry as trainee Quantity Surveyor in both consultancy and contractor
organizations.
Apart from my academic prowess, I have an interest and enthusiasm regarding my field of study. My
final year research project was, in examiners’ opinion, one of the best, combining as it did theoretical
and experimental approaches for exploring earthquake resistance in masonry structures.
Over the years at the university and during my industrial training, I have achieved skills in team work,
communication and leadership. Also, while at the university I have been selected as the leader for
several projects because of my ability to take on responsibility and impart my knowledge to those
working with me. I always try to meet deadlines and complete tasks unsupervised. If given the
opportunity, I am confident that I will be able to perform extremely well in my career.

Posess competencies in pre-contract cost management and contract administration including
preparation of tender documents and estimating.
Posess competencies in post-contract cost management and contract administration including
preparation of interim valuation, variations and verification of interim payments.
Conversant with ICT applications such as MS Office including MS project, AutoCAD.
Higher caliber in research and development methodologies. |
