I was a technical team leader and worked in the design and development of Southtech Ascend .NET, a Micro Credit Management solution for the world’s largest NGO, BRAC for the automation of its 3200 branches across the country. The sheer stature and scope of the project gave individuals involved in the project an opportunity to learn and develop their relevant skills. Initially it was designed with four modules namely Financial Management module, Credit/Loan Management module, Savings Management module, and Security Administration module and later on the scope of the project was further widened.
This is an integrated system which supports project based activities and consolidates the branch data to the Head Office module. The system also supports multi database (SQL Server 2000 and Oracle 9i) and multi currency.
I worked in the training and implementation of this project.
I also worked in the design and development of various SP (Service Pack), TP (Troubleshooting Pack) and VP (Value Pack) for the seamless running of the Ascend .NET application in the rural branches spread out all across Bangladesh.
I also played a key role in the development of two demo applications for PDA, one of which worked with Ascend .NET system and the other with Southtech Patient Care, a hospital management system.
