2. Roles And Responsibilities In The Project:
Role: Team Member
Responsibility:
Analysis
Working on impact analysis based on the requests. Preparing the adhoc reports based on the analysis. Analysis on the root cause of the issues that arise in production run and providing permanent fix for the same. Worked on analysis on both batch and online Issues.
Coding (Minor and Major Enhancements):
Handled maintenance tasks such as adding new functionalities or removing/updating existing functionalities using Cobol & Cics. Worked on automation tasks undertaken for process improvement. Also worked on optimizing the code for better performance.
Testing:
Preparing jobs using JCL for execution of programs and updating existing jobs. Prepare and issue all TSD service requests needed to move or implement the program in the production environment.
Preparation of Test Logs for performing different testing activities like Unit testing, Integration testing & System Testing etc.
Technical Documentation:
Preparation of the technical documentation of the program. Providing the users with the necessary documentation and fixing the user comments and concerns about the program.
Production Support:
Providing production support for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly jobs running in the 22 different application supported.
Fixing the abends within SLA limit. Immediate root cause analysis for the abend and have provided permanent fix. Familiar in abend handling and abend prevention activities.
Quality Process:
Preparing all the documents for quality audit purpose. Taking care of all sorts of reviews in the quality perspective. Maintaining the Information of all the deliverables, Installations, Defect prevention etc.
As team member focusing on the current technologies evaluate and study new available software and hardware technologies

• Around 3 years of IT experience with primary focus on Insurance application development, enhancement and maintenance in IBM Z/OS Mainframe environment.
• Has extensive working knowledge in COBOL, DB2, JCL,CICS and VSAM and tools like Changeman, Xpeditor, File AID, XLS, SPUFI & OPC,QMF.
• Has good experience in Development, Testing and Maintenance of applications in MVS Batch & MVS CICS Environment.
• Hands-on experience in creation of test strategy, test cases and test execution in DB2 using QMF.
• Experience in Batch application monitoring and fixing the issues.
• Experience on software development methodology and have worked through the full software development life cycle of system study, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
• Well proficient in solving all the issues and technical problems(abends) that rise during test run and actual production run.
• Preparation of all the adhoc reports using Db2 queries using QMF.
• Good knowledge in Quality processes and metrics.
• Has a good knowledge on Quality Related activities, Team Building and Task Coordination.
