Professional Experience
I started my professional career as a Junior Electrical Engineer in electrical contracting and eventually moved to Building Services Consultancy. Since June 2007, I have been working for Capita Symonds (Mauritius) as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer. In fact, Capita Symonds has been the Mechanical and Electrical Services Consultant of the Anahita Integrated Resort Scheme at Beau Champ. Hence, the main responsibilities empowered to me have been the Design of the Electrical Services under the instructions of the Project Manager and coordinating with Architects, Structural Engineers, Interior Designers, Mechanical Engineers and Local Authorities for the provision of Electrical Power to site. The several plots of Anahita under my design responsibilities are as follows:
„« Golf Clubhouse consisting of a Bar, Gym, Shop, Offices and Electrical Plantroom.
„« Golf Maintenance Facilities Building consisting of golf club cars maintenance garage, charging bay and offices.
„« Waterfront Village consisting of several branded Shops, Main Restaurant, Bar, Swimming Pool, Boathouse, Kids Club and Reception Building.
Other responsibilities in Anahita have been witness testing of the above plots, the Waterfront Apartments consisting of several blocks of Luxury Apartments and partly the Anahita Four Seasons Hotel.
Further design works involved were:
„« Bigwood and New Special School under Building Schools for the Future for Capita Symonds UK office. My involvement in the design of this project was mainly Lighting Design using DIALux software. The design standards used were Building Bulletins (BB90) and CIBSE.
„« Renovations of the several Courts showrooms around the island.
„« Upgrading of the Standby Generator set for Curimghee at Curepipe.
Before deciding to change my career path to Consultancy, I was working for another Contracting company (Rey & Lenferna Ltd) occupying the post as a Project Engineer in the electrical contracting department. My responsibilities at Rey & Lenferna Ltd consisted of the Sales of electrical products such as GE Electrical Distribution Board and Switchgears, light fittings, Industrial Electrical Accessories, etc. In addition, I was also responsible in carrying out Tender exercise for several electrical projects and in parallel managing numerous electrical projects as follows:
„« From June 2004 up to March 2006, manage the Lighting of Sports and Road Infrastructure Works throughout the island.
„« From January 2006 to June 2007, manage the electrical service installation of an Office complex (Caudan Peninsula).
„« From January 2007 to June 2007, manage the electrical installation works of a Business Class Hotel (Ebene Cybercity Hotel) at Ebene.
I started my career with Systems Building Contracting LTD within the electrical services department. My main responsibilities were as follows:
„« From November 2002 to December 2002, I worked mainly on electrical tenders.
„« From January 2003 to February 2003, supervised, test and commission a four stars hotel Fire Alarm System (Belle Mare Plage Hotel).
„« From March 2003 to October 2003, quality control engineer, testing and commissioning of the electrical installation of a Residential Complex at Ebene (Cyber-Village).
„« From November 2003 to mid December 2003, design and follow-up of the electrical renovations works of two hotels belonging to the Beachcomber Group.
„« From end of December 2003 to January 2004, testing and commissioning of a Commercial Complex (Central Market) at Port-Louis.
„« From February 2004 up to June 2004, manage the electrical installation works of a commercial complex (Lakepoint Ice Skating) at Curepipe.
