Gas Turbine Knowledge : Have very good knowledge about the Siemens Gas turbines (V94.3, V94.3A, V94.2). Have hands on experience about the layout engineering for Gas turbine and auxiliaries. Having very good exposure about the Fuel oil and Fuel Oil Gas system required for Gas Turbine. Having working experience with GE ( Frame 6 and 9E) gas turbine.
Exposure in Rotating Equipment: Having hands on exposure on the pump sizing and selection. Have exposure on the seal system for the pumps. Have good understating of the API codes for pumps / seal system
Pipe sizing: Having very good hands on exposure for calculating pipe size. Have exposure about the ASME B31.1 code.
Equipment / piping Layout : Equipment planning inside the building and the outside building. Erection and maintenance concept preparation is one of the very important role of Layout. This concept is used as basis for preparing the detailed erection and Manual concept. Piping corridor and the cable tray corridor planning is being done by Layout. Pipe bridge / Sleeper planning is also a major activity.
Area Planning : Planned for equipment and piping for the following area
Fuel oil and Fuel gas area based on NFPA codes.
Piping between DM water tank to the consumer.
Closed Cooling water system
Aux. Cooling water system
Bid Evaluation and commercial loading : On getting the offer from various vendors, evaluation report to be made based on the some important criteria ( i.e Power out put, Heat rate, Cost of the equipment. Etc.). Commercial loading has been made where the technical discrepancies are found and this loading has been added to the total cost of the m/c.
Heat Balance Diagram: Preparation of Heat balance diagram by using Gate Cycle package. Optimisation of cycle by changing the different parameter of cycle.
System Write-up : Preparation of brief description about the system is system write –up where control philosophy are also describe to some extent and the no. of pumps and tanks are mentioned there.
Flow diagram: As a system architect, the preparation of flow diagrams is also a prime responsibility. Flows diagram is nothing but the graphical representation of the system write –up.
Auxiliary Power list: Identifying the equipment which will be running during various stages of operation of the plant. Calculate the total power consumption of the operating equipment which has to be given during proposal stages.
Planning for fire protection: Equipment has to be placed accordingly to satisfy the fire zone requirement. Fence to be made accordingly. This planning has been done based on NFPA and other code. Dyke wall calculation, Location of transformer and catch pit sizing is the major activity.
Plot plan / External works drawing: Preparation of Plot plan, under ground facility planning.
Achievements
Doosan India has increased the scope work for the Layout engineering. Doosan Head quarter has agreed to increase this scope depending on my expertise.
Deputed to Siemens Office at Germany for Planning of Gas and Steam turbine building for a single shaft machine with a newly developed Gas Turbine (Gas turbine out put around 380MW).
Deputed to Belgium Site office for co-ordination between site office and design office.
Attended various kick-off meetings at Germany office.
Visited various construction site as Lender’s engineer.
Attended various Bid evaluation meetings
Presently working as Project Manager.
