Present Position Environmental Site Manager
Present Responsibilities
Presently coordinate and allocate the companies resources to project requirements within the private sector. Identifying and resolving environmental problems from a holistic perspective, acknowledging that the political, social, legal and economic aspects of issues are as important as those pertaining to science and technology. Furthermore providing training to developing Omani staff at entry level environmental technicians aswell as to developing environmental consultants. My training goal is that all members of the workforce recognise and develop their own contribution to the companys environmental performance.
Typical work activities include:
Developing environmental strategies that ensure corporate sustainable development;
Leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices;
Co-ordinating all aspects of resource use, pollution reduction, waste management, environmental health and employee involvement;
Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation;
Developing pollution control and pollution prevention;
Auditing and reporting on environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies;
Identifying, assessing and reducing the clients environmental risks and financial costs;
Keeping abreast of environmental legislation and good practice;
Raising awareness, at all client levels , of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice, on corporate, ethical and social responsibility;
Managing the development and implementation of an environmental management system;
Bidding for and managing the budget of a clients environmental strategy;
Managing relations with senior management and internal staff;
Training staff at all levels in environmental issues and responsibilities;
Developing business opportunities;
Managing a diverse group of engineers, scientists and technologists;
Negotiating environmental service agreements and managing associated costs and revenues; and
Writing environmental reports(audits, EMPs ,Surveys etc).
