I obtained my B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering in 1986 and M.Sc in Structural Engineering in 2006. I have over 23 years of working experience in structural design of buildings, bridges and culverts, estimate of costs, specifications and contract administration. D. Project Name: Consultancy Services for Detailed Design of Bagrami – Hisarak – Sherzad – Surkhrod Road

(n) Main Project Features: The objective of the Project is to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for Bagrami-Sherzad-Surkrod via Khakijabbar, a 2-lane 158km road. The DPR will also include the safeguard documents (Initial Environmental Examination and Resettlement Plan) in order to be eligible for donor fund for implementation.
(o) Position held: Bridge Engineer ( 3.0 months intermittent input)
Activities performed: Design of 43 nos. New bridges and upgrading of existing ones to ensure that their hydraulic capacity will allow the flow of 100-year return period storm discharge without surcharging;
Design the box culverts in accordance with sound engineering practice with particular attention being paid to details and inlet and outlets to avoid scour problems. Their capacity has to be calculated to carry the 50-year return period storm discharge without surcharging.

Responsible for detailed structural design of RCC Arch and its Cable suspension system, the bridge piers and abutments, structural design of the 50m long PC longitudinal beams and transverse beams. Preparation of technical specification and bill of quantities.

H. Project Name Southern Province Rural Economic Development Project

Design and built the pedestrians/suspension bridges over the two major river Ginganga and Nilwala ganga in Galle and Matara districts that were damaged after devastating flood of May 2003.

Activities performed:
Designed of 19 nos. Of suspension bridge, steel truss bridge of length varying from 25.0m to 60.0m with 1.50m clear carriage way including their foundation. The project was a Turnkey Project. Tender design was performed for M/s. MONICO LTD. An international contractor of Bangladesh that participate in the bid.

Activities performed:
(i) Assist LGED in finalization of the list of structures and roads to be built, (ii) verify the available LGED design, specification and tender and suggest modifications to suit the project works, (iii) undertake sub-soil investigation and hydrological survey, (iv) prepare detailed structural design, drawings, cost estimates, (v) preparation of tender document, evaluation of tender and assisting in the award of contract, (vi) supervise the construction works for ensuring quality in accordance with design and specification. DPM Ltd. Was appointed design consultants by AL-Amin Construction Co. Ltd., the contractor of the project for design and top supervision of the construction work.
