Dutes And Responsibilities
I. As a Regional Biomedical Engineer at Rustaq Hospital – Directorate General of Health Services, South Batinah Region , Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman.
1. In-Charge of the technical and administrative functions of the Biomedical Workshop of the Hospital and the Supervision/performing the medical equipment maintenance of the peripheral Hospitals , polyclinics and health centres of the south Batinah Region (Total 16 locations).
2. Maintain Biomedical preventive Maintenance Schedules for In-House serviced equipment and perform the preventive Maintenance with the support of Biomedical Technicians as per the manufacturers recommendations by using test equipment and Electrical safety analyzer.
3. Periodic training of end users and operators in the operation and maintenance of Biomedical equipment .
4. Establish control of all technical manuals and operating instructions .
5. Monitor and supervise the vendors servicing for the under Service Contract equipments while attending the breakdown calls/PPM (communicate with MOH , availability of service reports copies, log book, status report, complaints, penalty and equipment down time).
6. Evaluate all biomedical service agreements
7. Establish Spare parts Control System – Management : - -Ordering and stocking : Classify the items to be ordered , stored and not , Cash purchasing items .
8. Inventory of medical equipment / hospital furniture, test equipment and tools, nursing and teaching aids .
9. Distribute equipment hazard notifications to the appropriate clinical staff and follow up the procedure
10. Medical Equipment:-
- Replacement and upgrading of medical equipment for various hospitals and health centers, furnish new laboratories and dental clinics, and share in redistribution of various excess medical equipment /hospital furniture at various MOH hospitals.
- Co-ordination, supervision of the new equipment installation, and reinstallation of shifted medical equipment so that the same could be carried out in a proper manpower and in accordance with the installation requirements, and safety handling.
- Evaluation of old equipment and condemnation if required.
- Trial and evaluation of new equipment before purchasing.
11. Co- ordination with other Engineering departments for inter-department
Activities.
12. Submit monthly statistic report to hospital engineer and annual report of the progress of important works / activities to the Director General of Health Services, South Batinah Region.
II- Duties and responsibilities performed at security forces hospital, Riyadh- Saudi Arabia.
1. Perform repairing and troubleshooting of medical equipment, follow the procedures from the manuals, and perform alignment and calibration procedure.
2. Perform preventive maintenance, and preparing P.P.M program.
3. Give training to end-users.
4. Perform instrumentation inspection for the newly received and existing equipment, physical condition test, voltage and frequency, electrical safety tests, procedures for decontamination / sterilization.
5. Recommending and planning for spare parts requisition.
III-duties and responsibilities performed at Jordan armed forces, Amman – Jordan (July -1987 to March -1989):-
Day to day service calls, PPM, emergency calls, documentation preparation and logging to maintenance requests.
