| Years of Work Experience: |
More than 15 Years |
October 2002 – June 2007 Morrisons Construction, Sheffield
Safety Agent & Auditor South Yorkshire
I was responsible for ensuring all employees successfully completed an induction to the company, with specific focus on health and safety. I travelled throughout South Yorkshire completing on-site inspections ensuring all health and safety measures were met, providing additional training and safety equipment where required. With time, my role developed and I was then responsible for overseeing all work done by contractors and signing off on completion.
Due to the strict nature of healthy and safety, I made sure I was up-to-date with any changes and developments within health and safety legislation. I ensured I was always aware of the latest government guidelines and developments, to enable me to safely and successfully fulfil my role. As the area of health and safety is constantly developing, I frequently enrolled on courses and successfully completed many qualifications.
October 1989 – September 2002 Sheffield Forgemasters
Overhead Crane Driver
After being made redundant due to economic influences in 1984, I was contacted by Sheffield Forgemasters and asked if I would return. I resumed my previous position as Overhead Crane Driver and once again I was able to use the skills and experience gained from previous years. The steel industry continued to struggle which inevitably led to further redundancies in 2002.
July 1984 – September 1989 Gibbs Builders, Sheffield
Construction- Shop Fitter
Whilst working for Gibbs Builders I had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the UK. I was responsible for demolishing and rebuilding various high street stores. Due to the nature of the work, speed and efficiency were key to ensuring that we worked to deadlines. This was achieved by working flexible hours and being fully committed to achieving the required results within the given time frames.
January 1979 – June 1984 Sheffield Forgemasters
Overhead Crane Driver
I worked within the industry and became a key member in the team, responsible for charging the furnaces and casting all molten steel. I successfully completed many certifications and obtained various qualifications.
September 1976 – December 1978 Sheffield City Council
Painter & Decorator
Maintained all council buildings within Sheffield. Key objectives included working to tight deadlines whilst completing all tasks to approved standards.
