2005 – 2007 Captain and Yacht Director of the Fleet.
With over 15,000 N/M and being with boats and ships since I was a young boy I have spent more of my life on the sea, I think I was a fish in my first life.
I took the role as Captain and had Power Of Attorney for this Ship in Turkey in May 2005.She needed a lot of repair work doing to her and I was put in charge of the restoration programs from quotations to supervising all work undertaken and full financial control. I brought the Yacht to Oman from Turkey with my wife and Baby Daughter, and was given the position as Yacht Director. I was in charge of all Sea Division Staff and was responsible for implementing all Safety Procedures, training and introducing company protocols and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) which I designed for the better running of the Company. I was also the Captain to the vessels in the fleet. I have a vast knowledge of many different ship’s and put this to use within the fleet. I have a Vast of experience within the tourist industry and the V.I.P sectors and pride my self on the way I make their trip a relaxing and enjoyable one, where they have come back again and again. I was in charge of three vessels and five staff. I enjoyed the work as sea and vessels have always been my passion. However I resigned my position in 2007 and would prefer not to discuss why on Professional grounds and safety aspects. Was involved with a carrier in Muscat as Captain to a high powered vessel taking crew to and from shore until early ours of morning. Was awarded by Master Chef of that vessel a rather gallant award for my brave efforts in running off a vessel that entered the security Zone only 250mtr off its Starboard Quarter. Being un detected until last minute by myself and took evasive action to ram it off course. I then gave chase and run it off with other navy vessels joining the pursuit and carrier going to gunning stations. My vessel was unarmed at the time. Worked on repairs to vessels and Captain to many vessels n the charter and tourist industry until I found full time employment with another Sheik.
2003 – 2005 Lived and Worked In Turkey.
I had shares in a Scuba Diving School. I was the Captain of The 32 meter diving vessel. I would obtain the use of 4* and 5* hotels to teach tourists to dive in the Hotel pools then pre book them for a days Diving later the next day involving two dives at two different locations. I was head hunted by a Sheik from Oman and a Scotsman to restore and deliver their vessel they were buying in Turkey and made an offer I could not refuse.

    1995 – 2003 Delivering Ships / Captained Private yachts
I first started delivering ships and boats for a Mr. Alan Mc Gibbon who was an examiner for the Royal Yachting Association UK. I started of with smaller 16-24mtr sailing craft from one marina to the other in the UK and then went on to the 24-32mtr yachts and power craft delivering from UK to Holland and many other parts of Europe and the world. I have been over many seas in picking up all types of vessels and delivering them to different places in the world. I mainly worked for Mr. Alan Mc Gibbon but soon got a good reputation for my Captain’s skills and was getting orders from all over the world by different people and companies to either pick up or deliver these brand new, second hand ships. Every Year I was the Captain of a 30.5meter (100ft) cruiser called “De Stressed” Privately owned by Mr. G McMurray. I was employed from 1995-2002 every year for 5 months as his Private Captain with six crew. Then return to delivering vessels and hired as a freelance captain until I left as my wife was due to give birth and we decided to emigrate and join in a shared business in Scuba Diving as to spend more time closer to my family.
1986 – 1995 Worked at Essex Marina and Yard
Started working in the yard being trained in the repair and services department for all kind of vessels
And to the 52 ton lift and lower hoist at the marina. I eventually gained the position as Yard assistant manager. Within the years that followed I moved more into the hands on side of the Marina as the owner offered me the job as Marina Manager Assistant where I was put in charge of all berths, electric, water and accounts and the day to day running of the Marina. After two years as assistant Manager I took over the roll as manager due to the retirement of the existing Manager. I held this position as Marina Manager for 6 years. It was here that I was approached by Mr. Alan Mc Gibbon offering me much lucrative package in delivering vessels. The Marina was up for sale as had been privately owned all these years, and soon to be taken over by an International Marina Management company. I was offered to keep my post and be the manager for them but, I wanted to move on into the Captain side to gain more experience to later return to Marina Management later in life.
1981- 1985 Trainee Apprentice as precision engineer and Tool maker
Worked on Miller machines and lathes, making precision engineering parts for atomic reactors and power stations. Having gained high grades from school in technical drawing/metal work and welding, I was taken on by knocking on the door and asking for the job after passing a short test. The owner employed me as a Trainee apprentice where after two years I was making very important parts unattended from T.D drawings until they were finished and then inspected by the shop floor manager. The company closed down at the end of 1985 due to the Use the Apply Online Box below of the owner.
