• District Hospital, TOMBEL, 2002 –2006
- A first level referral hospital under the ministry of Public Health, Cameroon. Equipped with a theatre and maternity of W.H.O. Standard. Served as assistant medical officer. My task involved provision of primary medical care. I integrated all aspects of general medicine, general surgery, general obstetrics/gynecology, and pediatrics and preventive medicine. Ran diabetic clinics, Hypertension and cardiovascular disease clinics, Mother and childcare, and infant welfare clinics. Also did follow up and screening of chronic infectious diseases such as TB and HIV/AIDS. Carried out some general surgical and obstetrical procedures. Below is a list of some of surgical procedures performed under supervision.
- Carried out 137 surgeries (63 hernias), 10 Hydrocelectomies, 10 Caesarean Sections, 10 Exploratory laparatomies, 10 gynaecological surgeries (TOA, Ovarian cyst), 8 Ectopic pregnancies, 2 sub total hysterectomies, 3 Hemoroidectomies, 5 Testicular surgeries, 4 Tubal ligations, 5 Cystostomy, 3 Bowel anastomosis, 2 Appendectomy, placed several chest tubes and drainage of ascitis
• Fotabong Subdivisional Hospital, Lewoh, 2006- 2008
Promoted by ministerial decree to the post of chief medical officer of the Fotabon g sub divisional hospital. Where I have contributed in reforming the hospitals management and increase patient turnover through an integrated approach. Have instated a minor surgical theater for general surgery and OB/ Gyn procedures. I consult almost 200 patients every month with diverse medical conditions. I am responsible for primary care and serve as 1st level referral hospital in the subdivision. I also integrate all aspects of general medicine, general surgery, general obstetrics/gynecology, and pediatrics and preventive medicine. I also run diabetic clinics, Hypertension and cardiovascular disease clinics, Mother and childcare, and infant welfare clinics. Also I do follow up and screening of chronic infectious diseases such as TB and HIV/AIDS. Provide health education to patients. Carry out some general surgical and obstetrical procedures. Assist in vaginal delivery and performed minor surgical procedures.
