Plastic surgeon medical doctor 1996 - 2006
Company: Central Military Hospital Bucharest, Romania
Responsibilities:
The Central Emergency Clinic Military Hospital Bucharest is one of the biggest and most important emergency hospitals in the country, especially since Romania is a part of NATO. All clinics (ICU, 2 General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and burns, Cardiovascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Toxicology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Thoracic Surgery, Psychiatry, Interventional Angiography are universitary clinics.
The profile of patients treated at this Hospital is represented mainly by acute and chronic care of military personnel, as well as medical emergencies whose complexity is beyond the possibilities of others regional hospitals.
The Plastic Surgery and Burns Clinic was establish in 1996 and it was assigned with 20 beds, (2 fluidizated beds for burn care), and 2 plastic surgeons, one military and me, as civilian surgeon. In less than 3 years, our clinic has become very well-known in Romania despite of the lack of medical personnel. Since the beginning, I have been able to work first line of guard in team with orthopaedics surgery, assuring the consultation and the surgical interventions for specific plastic surgery emergencies and during the daily work I perform the consultation and the surgical procedures for treating delayed emergency, specific plastic surgery chronic diseases, and assisting the general surgery or orthopaedics in covering the skin or soft tissues defect. Over 10 years (1996-2006) I performed as first hand surgeon or in team with my chief around 500 surgeries/year covering the whole spectrum of plastic and aesthetic surgery, including the burns intensive care and surgery.
