Responsibilities:
I. Installation and Maintenance of Air-Conditioning Systems
The installation and maintenance of mid wall split, cassette split, under ceiling split type and window air-conditioning units.
Fault finding and relocations. Minor installation and service of ducted systems
In charge of two installation teams consisting of 4 people at times.

2. Installation and Maintenance of CCTV Security Systems

Position: Field Technician / Installer
Responsibilities:
Installation of Pneumatic Conveying systems in Natal area.
We worked with very heavy and big equipment that needed a lot of power and concentration as one mistake will be very costly as we worked with branded goods like Kongskilde, Nederman, Honeywell, Roff and Dragon Steel Storage Systems.
We were responsible for the transport of equipment to sites and the overseeing of safe and speedy installations. Planning of installations, commissioning and maintenance of all sites like Dairy Bell, plastic manufactures, grain farmers etc.
This involved a lot of handyman work as most of the work was the building and construction of pipe lines for air transport and tracks for transporting bottles and other goods.
Our Office was in Durban but our installations took us as far as Johannesburg, Empangeni & Richarsbaai.
Although this was only a 12 month contract I enjoyed the hard work as we worked 12 hour shifts 6 days a week with only 2 days of in a month.
We had to work closely with our clients to make sure we understand exactly what their needs were.
We had to involve electricians as well to plan the sites with us so we would have adequate power for each machine. After every installation we returned every 3 months to test and make sure each plant is safe and secure. We had to canvass for new clients as well as monthly stock takes with the relevant paperwork
Reason for leaving: Contract period expired and a new job opportunity came up with a set salary with more benefits.
