Self Employed – Various
October 2007 to Present I was due to return to Cyprus after the end of October but due to the sudden Use the Apply Online Box below of my father in mid November 2007 I stayed in the UK to look after my disabled mother. During that time I have worked on a self employed basis both within the computer industry (privately) and for the past 4 months as a self employed driver, collecting and delivering vehicles for a large Distribution company. I moved to Cyprus on the 8th December 2008.
Comet Plc – Senior Systems Analyst (Permanent)
February 2001 – October 2007 Working as a Systems Analyst my role was to provide a wide range of services. The main responsibilities were:
• Day to day 2nd line support to approx 600 user as part of a small roles such as advisory, systems design, systems integration and troubleshooting.
• Proactive systems monitoring and health checking.
This is a senior role within the company. In this role I have been able to prove time and again that I can take control of situations, investigate and deal with various issues. During my time I have also been responsible for the training of 2 full time members of staff and also contractors.
I have also been involved in several enhancements and small projects which I have handled from start to finish with full documentation and handovers done.
Comet Plc – Desktop Support Analyst (Contractor)
October 1999 – February 2001: Working for Comet as a contractor I and another contractor were responsible for 2nd line support and subsequent development of a 400+ user call centre
The main responsibilities were
• 2nd line support
• Implementation of 400 new PCs and redistribution of older equipment including the same amount of telephones and a number of printers. This had to be implemented within a tight timescale in order for the CIC to open for business. This was subsequently achieved on time.
Express Dairies Limited – Network and Systems support Analyst
August 1998 – October 1999: Working as part of 4 members of a team, each with their own responsibilities.
My main responsibilities were
• The day to day maintenance of 4 x NT servers, 1 x Novell server and 1 x AS/400 server and back up systems.
• Day to day support of approx 250 users over 3 sites within the UK
An added responsibility was to implement a network solution within an office separate to the main ones in Holme on Spalding Moor and Frome. This was obtained by the purchase, build, configuration and installation of the server in the Hull office. This was then linked to the servers in the other two offices in the UK.
Hull College of Further Education – Systems Support Analyst
June 1996 – September 1998: Working as part of a small team of analysts supporting both staff and students over 4 sites in Hull and Goole.
Main responsibilities were
• Day to day support of users with software and hardware issues
• General day to day hardware maintenance and repair
• Support of Novell network at 3 outer sites away from the main Queens Gardens site that had its own network team.
Pre 1996 Employment
I spent 2 years at Full Time College from September 1994 to June 1996 on a BTEC National Diploma course as detailed below.
Prior to 1996 I spent 14 years driving buses and coaches in UK and Europe and also did multi drop work for Apparel master UK based cleaning and supply company.
