Responsibilities and achievements. I am responsible for:
Developed, deployed and actively maintain a three-tier ERP like web application capable to manage customers of service providers offering triple play services . Built on top of Linux and FreeBSD systems the application uses as main database server the ACID compliant Firebird RDBMS , the business logic being built in php.The application includes CRM interface and billing,accounting, depot management modules and communicates by using SNMP,SMTP or FTP with Cisco hardware, DOCSIS capable modems, Connax conditional access system, BlackBerry terminals.
Wrote a lot of scripts in bash/awk/php and c programs connecting to a MySQL /Firebird database and generating firewalls (iptables, nat) , traffic control rules (tc,htb,hfsc,sfq esfq,iptables mangle), DOCSIS configuration files for both modems and mta’s , configuration files for DNS, DHCP and monitoring services like MRTG and Smokeping.
Installation , configuration and maintenance for 25 mission critical Linux machines acting as routers and/or hosting services/applications as: DNS,SMTP, IMAP, POP3, HTTP, FTP, SIP proxy/registrar, H323 gatekeeper, RADIUS, SNMP, PPPOE concentrator, BGP ,DHCP, MySQL, Firebird, Cacti, MRTG,Smokeping, web proxy.
Established/implemented security policies regarding subscriber access (firewalls/fFreeRADIUS & Chap authentication), server access (SSH,FTP,SMTP,MySQL,Firebird), network services: black hole filtering/prefix filtering (Quagga), netflow monitoring (Ipcad & Cisco devices), IPS (snort) ,SMTP filtering (Clamav,Spamassasin).
Data backup/restore by using ssh/tar and database specific tools like mysqldump for MySQL and gbak,nbackup for Firebird.
Provided implementations, migrations, and support for Linux centric solutions based on distributions like Fedora,Redhat,CentOS,Debian, Slackware.
