Transmission Planning Responsibilities
- Choosing the 3G locations so that both coverage and transmission requirements to be fulfilled, by: using special MW transmission planning tools (ICS Telecom; Atoll) and high resolution maps; analyzing pictures and sites surveys.
- Choosing suitable location/antennas for back-to-back passive repeaters for non-LOS microwave radio links.
- Making the frequency planning in agreement with IGCTI - The General Inspectorate for Communications and Information Technology.
- Choosing the topology of the radio network and solving the vicinity aspects with other operators.
- Performing support for 3G Site Construction department when programming, installing and aligning a microwave radio link.
- Keeping direct contact with the optical fiber respondent in every county to see if new 3G sites can be integrated using an optical link.
- Proposing optical fiber lines and dark fiber usage to increase RAN reliability by ensuring redundant traffic.
Technical Responsibilities
- Preparing microwave equipments orders in agreement with company’s future and in progress plans.
- Choosing the right equipments (Nokia, SAF, Huawei and NEC technology) for new microwave radio links.
- Configuring and integrating microwave equipments in the radio transmission network.
- Offering solution for remote access over IP on every radio equipment.
- Managing and monitoring of microwave radio links.
- Offering support for O&M teams in solving various faults and alarms on microwave equipments.
- Participate to work shops and meetings where different vendors present their microwave solutions and keeping contact with them.
Additional responsibilities & Accomplishments
- Estimated and dimensioned more than 500 microwave radio links around the country.
- Managed the “Cities without optical fiber” project where I had to find radio solutions for integration of all 3G sites belonging to 15 cities .
- Offering microwave radio solutions related to voice & data traffic for other departments.
- Implemented work procedures that allow interoperability between 3G radio transmissions department with other departments.
- Technical respondent and meetings organizer in purchasing from Nokia an inventory and topology tool.
