    Job Description
    Fabric sourcing - From china (sampling, bulk production, new fabric sourcing, quality assurance and follow all shipment dox)

    Lead brand teams and preferred mill to develop new innovative fabrics for up coming season by communicating and reviewing benchmarking results of competitors and inspirational brands.
    Evaluate and lead team in execution of Timing and Action calendar for seasonal development of fabrics.
    Oversees Seasonal Fabric Approval Process against objectives and timelines to calendar.
    Reviews and participates in benchmarking to gain direction for BBI items.
    Studies competitive set against competition and aspiration brands and establish parameters for new fabric development against the Fashion Pyramid.
    Lead the BBI Process. Establish Better Base Initiative (BBI) Through Fabric “Solutions” that ensures the business is competitive against the market and satisfies Customer “Needs” to Simplify her life.
    Identify core fabrications for the base of the fashion pyramid equal to or exceeding competition or inspirational Brands.
    Lead Solution Providers and Preferred mills to work jointly removing obstacles to provide new innovative solutions on identified base fabrications.
    Manage all New BBI Fabrics with solutions through the Fabric Approval Process to be available for Selection. Oversee review of testing protocol of pre-production and production testing failures for all BBI Programs.
    Develop and maintain working relationships with new mills, and solution providers.
    Research new Textile Mills about new technology and up and coming manufacturing regions.
    Oversee BBI Mill Days - Insure scheduling for appropriate time in the development schedule. Insure outcome of Fabric Headers with all solutions that pass all Performance Testing Protocol.
    Lead new innovation and technology regarding fabric development. Lead new fiber and yarn suppliers to develop fabrics with preferred mills accelerating innovative fabrics.
    Support sustainability initiative, in developing fabrics using alternative fibers. Ensure alignment with Sustainability Networks in Fabric Strategy, Fabric Standards, and Process.
    Support the Product Development Team as well as the Buying Team during Key Seasonal Meetings with Technical Assistance and Process Clarification.
    Keep current on new developments in the industry, through periodicals, web sites, trade shows, agencies in the industry, and networking with suppliers and mills. Including but not limited to P.V. And Outdoor Retail Show.
    Manage a smooth hand off of BBI Approved Fabrics to the Fabric library. Ensure all mills are aware of all the performance specifications of BBI Solutions and with the Global Apparel Technical Manual.
    Keep current with industry technology trends through participation and membership in technical associations such as AATCC and Astm.

    • Receiving proper FRS from Marketing Department.
    • Fabric sourcing

    • Time and actions follow ups(Lab dips, bulk )
    • Understanding of the buyer’s requirements being handling.(Tesco,loblaws,h&m,KOHLS, M&s,brass Pro)
    • Understanding of the Turn around Time given and the new orders, Time required for the different fabric prodn.
    • Follow up with different sections and compilation of the fabric quality with in the stipulated time frame.
    • Rejection Analysis Report.
    • Discussion of the problems with our Quality Circle and make the solution.
    • Monitoring Quantity and Quality
    • Monitoring Fabric issued detail to all Factories.
    Follow up on status everyday to ensure delivery commitments made in the planning are met.
