    As Unit Manger Brands my duties include planning, developing, and directing marketing efforts for the Group Corporate ,Mobile Post Paid, 3G, Roaming, New Segment entry & the Customer Convenience Brand portfolio. Responsibilities include planning /directing activities of specialists in product developments, advertising, promotion, marketing research and development, sales, distribution and commercials.

    Brand Portfolio: Dialog Corporate Brand, Post Paid (Contributing 49% of total business volumes), 3G (Sustaining the brand promise of delivering “The Future Today”),Roaming, New segment Entry products, Promotions and brand activations, printing and outdoor promotions.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Manage and position the corporate brand in the minds of the Sri Lankan Consumer.(responsible for all thematic corporate brand communication activities)
    • Achieve Brand’s volume, value share and brand contribution targets in order to achieve overall value growth and company plan objectives.

    Colombo Communications Ltd . Is one of the pioneering Radio station in Sri Lanka which owns the No 1 Sinhala Radio Channel (Shree FM), a youth Radio Channel (Ran FM) and a English Channel (E Fm).

    Key Accountabilities
    • Development of sector sales and marketing strategies including annual planning, targeting & budgeting.
    • Deliver the sector KPI’s including sales targets, customer relationship management, key account development & retention.
    • Recruitment & management of sales staff within the sector.

    As the Marketing Manager; was responsible for coordinating and managing all business areas relating to delivery and design of customized corporate communication solutions for key accounts.

    • Liaised closely with the Business Control Unit to design and develop customized Radio Communication products, analyzing key account profitability forecasts and formulated pricing strategies.
    • Annual targets / KPI archived on sales, retention, debt control.
    • Anticipated and identified customer needs and drew up special packages/ plans in line with the company objectives.
    • Designed and delivered marketing activities and other customer retention programs / projects such as cocktails, customer evenings, loyalty schemes, outdoor promotions and activations for clients.

    Sampath Bank offers project finance, commercial banking, insurance, investment banking and stock brokering services to all segments of the business community in Sri Lanka.


    Key Accountabilities
    I was designated as a Brand Manager and instrumental in introducing “Pubudu Triple S” Savings Product and “SET Plus” Gold depository product, by designing the Product and designing & implementing the product launch mass media marketing communication campaign.
    I was responsible of managing the entire brand activities of

    • Randiriya – Pawning Product,
    • Pubudu Triple S – Children Savings Product
    • SET Plus – Smart Card
    • Sampath Sanhinda - an account for Senior Citizens.


    Key Involvements

    Corporate Re-launch –sampath Bank
    I was responsible for the successful implementation of the corporate re-launch campaign for Sampath Bank.
    This involved the media planning , development of corporate advertising material /and all BTL material provided to all branches across Sri Lanka on time in order to Re-launch to be effective at all branches at the same time.



    Brand Manager / Senior Marketing Officer August 1998- March 2005


    • I was able to increase the Pawning portfolio from Rs.250 MN to Rs. 5 billion within three years of hard work.
    • Developing and implementing marketing & business plan for the respective brands under the Corporate Strategic Plan.
    • Support overall business growth and development of the bank through the preparation and exhibition of marketing objectives, policies and programs.
    • Design, development and implementing of effective marketing communication and promotional campaigns for Sampath Bank branch network (64 branches)
    • Formulate an advertising strategy to effectively reach target segments and achieve Brand loyalty in line with the overall bank strategy.
    • Liaise and brief advertising agencies in order to deliver timely advertising and publicity instrument for the bank.



    Marketing Officer - Sampath Bank Card Centre (1994-1998)

    • Identifying and targeting marketing activities at potential customer segments
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with cardholders with a view to ensure superior customer satisfaction
    • Monitoring the business performances of Merchants and maintaining an excellent relationship to ensure continuous business
    • Planning & Development of promotional campaigns to increase the Merchant/Cardholder base and create awareness of new product developments.
