I am a 22-year-old college graduate looking to acquire a job anywhere in Argentina. Some of my relevant skills are as follows:
Training/Teaching
-As supervisor of the climbing wall, I am responsible for training my staff. I organize and conduct the training by myself.
-As a senior member of the ropes course staff, I have also had the opportunity to assist in training new staff members.
-I have taken an Organizational Presentation class. In this class I learned how to conduct training modules and I had to create a 45-minute training module on infusing diversity into the curriculum of Valdosta State University.
-I have taken an Intercultural Training class. In this class I created a training module and used it to train VSU Outdoor Trip leaders on how to increase international student participation on trips.
-I have learned a lot about putting together lesson plans and different methods of teaching through my experiences with teaching bible studies at First United Methodist Church.
Organization/Planning
-As a supervisor of the climbing wall, I am responsible for finding sponsors who will donate money/prizes. I send out letters, make phone calls, and personally speak with many different companies. This year alone I have put together a new list of donors from scratch because the climbing wall has never had official sponsors. This year I had over $2000 in prizes donated.
-I am also responsible for organizing/planning climbing competitions. I have to come up with a set of rules for each competition. I also have to make sure the competitions are marketed so that people know about them. This year we have had more people attend our competitions than any year before.
-These two aspects of my job have helped me learn how to manage my time and meet deadlines.
Management
-As supervisor of the climbing wall, I have a staff of eight employees that I manage. I am responsible for scheduling hours, hiring and firing, dealing with conflicts and problems, and regulating day-to-day operations at the climbing wall.
-As a ropes course facilitator, management skills are also very important. I have to maintain control of my groups and direct them in the tasks they are attempting to complete.
