Being a nurse in surgical department in csi mission hospital is very helpful to develop comprehensive skilled nursing care related to the physical and emotional needs of clents with specific types of surgical problems. Being a staff nurse in surgical ward it is very important to carry out qualitative and skilled pre and post operative nursing care to clents with thyroidectomy, laparotomy cholecystectomy, herniorrhapy, trans urethral resection and prostate, mastectomy, tonselectomy, intestinal resection, haemorrhoidectomy circumcision, cystoscopy, gastrotomy, colostomy, clients with the compaints of gasgangrine, gastro intestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, soft tissue infection, WOUNDS, BURNS, appendicititis etc.
I had to administer and direct clients in hygine, medications, treatments, nutritions, wound care, carrying out orders as per concerned doctors being a staff nurse in medical department it is very important to carryout comprehensive qualitative and skilled nursing care. Clients with acute medical illness, diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, CVA, hepatitis, tuberculosis, epilepsy, encephalitis, typhoid fever, jaundice etc.

My responsiblities include receiving the clients to the department with proper ward environment orientation to avoid fear and anxiety recording vitals and carrying out therapeutic interventions ie, administration of medications and meet with clents physical and emotional needs. I have had to administer skilled and qualitative nursing care to every client according to the nursing procedure. I had to administer clients in hygiene, medications and treatments as per the order of concerned doctors in other words I ensured that all medical order for various clients given by the doctors were carried out in time accurately and also made close observations of clents vital signs, any symptoms of deteriration etc. I always make sure that all the equipments in the ward is functioning well and also ensuring the availability of all emergency drgus and maintaining stock register promptly. I am usually supervising the student nurses during their rounds in my unit.
Being a staff nurse in paediatric ward, ortho ward, opthalmic ward, maternity and operating theater. I had various responsibilities such as admitting clents, observing and recording vital signs meeting clents physical, emotional and spiritual needs, planning implementing and evaluating nursing process, performs antenatal care, postnatal care, conducting labour, hygene giving health teaching to the clients and family, referring clents to rehabilitation, observation of aseptic technique and had experience in C.S.S.D. AND Primary Health.
