| Community Development Volunteers for Technical Assistance (CDVTA) was founded and legally registered in Cameroon in 1998. It bears registration No: NW/GP/01/98/1940 of 11 May 1998. It also has authorization from the Ministry of Social Affairs Cameroon N0: AS92-1300/L/MINAS/SG/DIDESEC/CECO/CEA1 of July 1 2008 and of the ministry of territorial administration No: 005/ACK/E.32/050/2007/A2 of August 17 2007.
The mission of CDVTA is to advocate, empower, and build up older people’s understanding of their rights and support sustainable development, through poverty alleviation strategic initiatives, in their respective communities, while at the same time, lobbying the government and policy makers to formulate policies, recognising and promoting the respect for their constitutional rights through legislation.
CDVTA works towards improving the livelihoods of disadvantaged communities in a way that allows their participation in poverty alleviation, empowerment, capacity building and where the impact of the work is sustainable. The organization operates on the principles of equity and non-discrimination (either by race, religion, gender or caste) CDVTA involves elderly beneficiaries, their communities, staff and volunteers, in all phases of the project cycle from identification, planning, and execution to monitoring and evaluation.
