The Opportunity:
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Integration Application Engineer located in Germany position. If you are looking for an opportunity to… utilize your background in SCADA practices, enjoy international travel and provide excellent customer service to the Utility and Engineering firms, then this may be the position for you!
SEL is a global manufacturer that provides products and services for the protection, control, automation, integration, communications and metering of electric power systems for industrial and utility markets and have an immediate need requirement for a Business Development Manager.
Integration Application Engineer
Responsibilities:- Assist field application engineers, sales representatives and strategic customers in applying SEL integration and application products through telephone contact, visits, trade show demonstrations and application literature.
- Train field application engineers, sales representatives and strategic customers on SEL integration and application products and applications.
- Contribute to integration and application product specifications and application literature.
- Perform special studies and tests as needed by customers.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all SEL products and a perspective of industry practice.
- Participate in SEL sales and marketing activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
- Follow and improve Application Engineering area processes.
Qualifications:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years working knowledge of SCADA practices and philosophies
- Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
- Working knowledge of protective relay applications at utilities or engineering firms
- Willing to travel 60%
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
- Bilingual in German and English
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of industrial controls and PLCs, 3 phase power systems and communications protocol applications such as DNP 3.0 and Modbus
- Knowledge of protocols and communications with RTUs, PLCs, or IEDs
- Experience implementing human machine interfaces
