Our Client is a major Player in turnkey and civil engineering infrastructure and township development. They have projects and investments in South East and Far East Asia, Indochina, South Asia and the Middle East.
Project Description
The design and construction of the 3 main systems of the new Doha International Airport which include airfield facilities, tunnel and detention ponds.
The airfield facilities will be able to cater for the latest large body aircrafts and will include 2 runways of 4.84 km and 4.25 km respectively, three parallel taxiway, aircraft parking aprons, drainage works, airfield ground lighting facilities complete with 4 number of substations and other related facilities.

Job Summary
Responsible for the overall management of a project by ensuring that technical and financial goals of a project are achieved within the constraints set out by the Project Director and Terms and Conditions of the contract.
The candidate must have a minimum of 20years experience, previous experience in Middle East is essential. Must have implemented an airport infrastructure project involving concrete pavement.
Key Responsibilities
1 Ensures that the day to day operations are in line with the project's goals.
2 Ensures that all project operations are carried out in accordance with the client’s policies and specifications.
3 Maintains a foresight of the direction the project is taking, foresees problems that may arise and taken the necessary steps to avoid it. Liaises with the client's project management team in solving day to day problems that may arise.
4 Holds meetings or discussions with his own project management team regularly to ensure smooth execution of the project.
5 Holds meetings with sub-contractors to resolve problems and expedite progress.
6 Liaises with government or statutory bodies.
7 Sources materials.
8 Implements actions to improve efficiency.
9 Prepares necessary claims to the client from time to time.
10 Prepares periodic claims for sub-contractor.
11 Prepares progress reports and cost analyses for work items for Project Director / General Manager.
12 Advises the Project Director of any deviation in the projects progress and financial situation and recommend possible courses of action.
13 Established a system / method of cost control on site to ensure minimum wastage of materials and pilferage.
14 Any other duties as directed by the management from time to time.

Qualifications :
Recognized Degree in Civil Engineering / Building, preferably with a Professional Qualification.
Specific skills/abilities :
Adequate technical expertise to resolve technical matters, appreciation of contract procedures and insurances, good interpersonal and communication skills, effective management of project to achieve scheduled and budgeted targets.
Personal qualities :
Good leadership qualities, good organization, able to work under pressure independently, self-motivator, achievement oriented, able to lead a project team and sub-contractors.
