We are a large, established industrial distributor who is experiencing rapid growth. We are in need of an experienced customer service representative who can jump right in. The position does not involve cold-calling or making sales calls. You will spend most of your busy day on the phone responding to customer requests for quotes, taking and tracking orders, problem solving and checking expediting orders.
Our office is filled with great people. We are hard working people who pitch in to help in whatever way is necessary to make the customer happy. It is a busy environment, but we have fun at work. The customers can get pretty technical and sometimes urgent and demanding. This position has a great upside and opportunities for advancement.
No highway 40 or nasty commute! We are located in Dupo, IL just across the Jefferson Barracks Bridge.
This position is for experienced candidates only. Experience in inside sales or customer service for an industrial distributor or experience with the industrial MRO market is required. If you do not have experience, we are also hiring for an entry level customer service position, but you must have a mechanical background and you must reference job ID LG-StL ELCSR
Before Applying Please Make Sure You Meet Our Criteria. You MUST:
- have at least 2 years experience in customer service in some type of industrial business preferably in the MRO market.
- Must have some hands-on mechanical background, preferably in the repair or operation of industrial equipment. Knowledge of steel making, petroleum refining, agriculture or chemical production is very helpful. Knowledge of hydraulics a big plus.
- Must be a self-starter. There is not a great deal of supervision to this position. You will find all of us there to help when you need help, and you must be willing to help others with whatever is needed to help the customer.
- Must be competent in most Microsoft Office applications as well as have enough computer knowledge to be trained on our software to take orders, check on orders, track down inventory and orders, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
