College Settlement Camp offers children from different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds the opportunity to live, play and learn together. We do not discriminate as to race, creed, color, national origin, special needs or gender.
The beautiful facility includes two pools, low and high ropes courses, a small lake and several small streams, fields, woodlands and a small farm complete with donkeys, goats and chickens.
There are several pavilions and about twenty buildings, including two nature centers, a dining hall and cabins which serve as living quarters. The resident camp also owns and operates a 75-acre outpost in the central Pennsylvania Mountains which sits amidst 6,000 acres of state game lands.
The College Settlement of Philadelphia is a non-profit organization that operates both resident and day camp programs for 7 to 14 year-old economically disadvantaged children from the metropolitan Philadelphia area.
Many of these children live in difficult situations and face challenging problems in their daily lives.
We have been involved in interracial, intercultural camping since 1922 and offer campers an enjoyable, educational summer camp experience at our beautiful facility.
Our goals:
* develop and nurture a positive environmental ethic through fun activities .
*family/community atmosphere in which children and adults enjoy working and playing together.
*the opportunity to share, play, learn and work to children of all backgrounds, religious affiliations, cultures and nationalities.
*provide a healthy and practical lifestyle through proper nutrition and practice of daily routine.
Facilities include 235 acres of woodland, field, stream and lake, a small farm, 2 pools, floodlit playcourts & ropes courses.

Staff Positions
The minimum age for counselor and environmentalist positions is 19 years of age.
Trip Leaders, Unit Leaders and Pool Directors must be age 21+ with a clean driving license. Training can be provided in the following ares: Lifeguard Training, Wilderness First Aid, Defensive Driving, High Ropes Facilitation.
To be a staff assistant you must have participated in our summer camp program as a camper and be 16 years of age. CITs (counselor in training) must also be former campers and must be 17 years of age.
All staff must be able to commit to a full 9 week season (this includes the staff orientation.) |
