Construction Specialist Mechanical
The Construction Specialist Mechanical reports to the Lead Construction Engineer and performs the following functions.
1. Interprets applicable drawings and specifications as required by the Contractor.
2. Monitors setting, internals installations, inspections and close-up of vessels as well as modification thereto.
3. Monitors setting, erection, coating applications, modifications, inspections and close-up of tanks.
4. Coordinates third party inspection and application of certification stamps, such as Lloyds or ASME.
5. Monitors assembly and field installation of rotating equipment, such as compressors, gas combustion turbines, gear reducers, fluid pumps and other industrial rotating equipment.
6. Coordinates with other disciplines to resolve problems and prevent delays when conflicts arise.
7. Verifies all alignments and leveling of equipment.
8. Monitors all mechanical testing and lubrication of equipment and insures proper documentation.
9. Monitors physical installation to ensure that work is installed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
10. Witnesses all piping and verification, including P&ID checks and hydrostatic testing.
11. Verifies correct installation of pipe systems with all components
(supports, hangers, valves, etc..).
