Canadian-American Schools has 4 full-time teaching positions available from Aug. 4th 2008 (2 positions) and Aug. 25th (2 positions), 2008.
Our new semester begins in August and we are looking for teachers who wish to work in a fun, creative and energetic environment where children come first.
Our core kindergarten programs are English-immersion classes for 3 to 6 year-olds.
Our entire staff speaks English and it is the medium of instruction and communication used at all times with our students.
Class times are Monday to Friday, 9:15 a.M. To 3:50 p.M. With a 2-hour lunch break and two additional 20-minute breaks to allow for teacher preparation.
Classes are arranged by age and the number of students never exceeds 16 per class.
Our curriculum covers a range of learning goals and is similar to North American kindergarten or pre-school programs.
Our evening program (4:40 p.M. To 6:10 p.M.) offers additional overtime teaching income.
Students are 6 to 14 years in age and class size is limited to 12 students. Our evening classes emphasize English for communicative purposes and give students a headstart on the English they will study in junior high school.
Canadian-American Language Schools offers:
1. NT $65,000 per month (base salary of $60,000 plus additional pay equal to approximately 30 hours x NT $500 per hour IF overtime class is offered).
2. NT $30,000 Performance Bonus
3. NT $25,000 Airfare Bonus
4. Two weeks paid vacation plus paid national holidays.
5. Health insurance coverage.
6. Assistance in locating local housing and setting up a bank account.
7. Airport pickup (Hsinchu is 50 minutes south of Taipei International Airport in Taoyuan and 1 hour from Taipei).
8. Generous second year pay raises, including an additional one-week vacation in the second year, for teachers wishing to renew their contract.

Canadian-American Language Schools requires:
1. Canadian-born or American-born citizen.
2. One year of teaching or teaching-related experience, preferably with young children (examples: summer camp counselor, coach, daycare worker, teacher’s assistant, etc)
3. An undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
4. A positive, professional attitude and a true desire to teach children.
5. A willingness to work as part of a team to promote a spirit of learning
* A degree in education or early childhood education is desirable but not necessary.
Similarly, M.A. TESOL, CELTA or TEFL/TESL certification is advantageous but not necessary.
