Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Maximum 20 teaching hours in class per week, not including preparation time (one teaching hour is 50 minutes)
„P Bonus of 50+ RMB/hour for volunteer teaching hours exceeding 20 hours/week
- Oral/Written College level English courses
- Other teaching commitments may include, but are not limited to:
Private-sector teaching
ċ Business/ Industry English programs
ċ On-line teaching programs
- Will include some evening and weekend teaching hours
Curriculum Development:
- Participate in developing new curriculum, including but not limited to
ċ College level courses*
ċ Professional English Training Programs*
- Average of 5-10 hours/week, but it will fluctuate depending on project
* General curriculum guidelines will be provided by both our local and foreign educational partners. You would be required to synthesize and convert it into an effective classroom program, taking into to account the needs and the level of English of the students.

Qualifications:
- Must be a native English speaker (preferably American, Canadian, British, or Australian)
- At least two years teaching experience (classroom teaching).
- Must have TESL or TELF certificate
- Bachelor¡¦s Degree from a recognized institution
- Good physical health and fit to travel without a medical condition
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
Potential Candidates:
- Retired professionals or teachers
- Working adults with senior management experience wishing to take annual break and experience Asia
Desired, but not required, qualifications:
- Some knowledge of Mandarin
- ESL/EFL classroom experience
- As working in a foreign environment can be challenging, the position is best suited for candidates who possess the following qualities:
ċ Adaptable to foreign customs/culture
ċ Strong organizational skills
ċ Independent and proactive nature
ċ Friendly, creative and a genuine people-person
Contract Details:
- A one (September-January) or two semester (September-July) contract is available commencing September 2008
- Base salary is 6500RMB per teaching month(before-tax)
- An average priced economy class one way/return air tickets at the end of the service time.
- Teaching quality bonus (3000RMB) issued at the end of every completed semester.
- Work Visa and residency permit sponsorship included
- Will offer annual accidental insurance
- Free mandarin lessons if desired
- Free private accommodation at international staff housing across from Weifang University
ċ New building, modern design, bright, apartment
ċ Fully furnished (basic furniture and appliances including a fridge, TV set, air conditioner, water cooler, hot water shower, DVD player, microwave, free internet and cable TV)
ċ Private bedroom (1 or 2 bedrooms per apartment)
ċ 15 minute walk to/from CIBT Beihai International College
ċ 10 minute taxi/20 minute bike ride to city centre shopping/restaurant district.
- The instructor shall be entitled to those paid and unpaid holidays that occur during the contract period. Unpaid holidays include:
- 7 weeks the unpaid winter holiday in Jan. and Feb.
There are approximately 3 weeks of paid holiday per year, including:
- 2 weeks of summer holidays in August.
- 1 day of May Day holiday on May 1st.
- 3 days of National Day holiday from October 1st to October 3rd.
- 1 day of New Year Holiday on January 1st.
- 1 day of Pure Bright Day on April 4th.
- 1 day of Dragon Boat Day on June.
- 1 day of Mid- autumn Day on September 14th.
*note:
1¡^If a holiday occurs on the weekend no extra days off will be given.
2¡^Before or after holidays, the school usually will ask the teacher to make up some of class time lost during the holiday. The teacher might work more than 20 hours in that special week. Those extra hours will not be paid as extra teaching hours. |
