Buyer, Indirect Purchasing (Japanese Speaking)
Location: Singapore
Major Responsibilities
• Analyze customer requirements and source merchandise from most competitive supplier(s);
• Apply agreed RFQ procedure, perform pricing analysis, compile Quotation for customer’s decision
• Manage all sourcing requests and orders to satisfactory conclusion, including facilitating resolution of any delivery or invoicing issues where applicable
• Seek merchandise feedback from customers
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products or new merchandise ideas for active introduction to customers
• Manage supplier’s performance and identify areas for improvement
• Feedback information on suppliers performance on a project basis to appropriate senior staff
• Support preparation of statistical reports, management reports, marketing materials, presentation slides, correspondences and other ad hoc reporting requirements
Pre-requisites
• Degree or Diploma in any discipline
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience
• Excellent verbal communication and written skills with ability to communicate at all levels
• Multi cultural, excellent English language skills
• Ability to communicate JAPANESE is a must
• Excellent customer focus skills coupled and ability to resolve project-related issues
• Ability to understand customer requirements and source from market
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with lots of initiative and drive
• Negotiation and influencing skills, a must
• Able to multi task and prioritize
• Mature, meticulous with an eye for details and strong numerate skills
• Systems and computer literate, a must;
• eAuction experience is an added advantage;
• Good work ethics with a sense of urgency and accountability
• Willing to learn and be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
