| Description: |
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
Knowledge of conditions of contract and contractual procedures involving Client, Consultant and Sub-contractors.
Carry out all estimating activities involved during pre-tender, post-tender, variation orders and new proposals.
Detailed quantity take-off’s including BOQ recapitulation.
Prepare tenders for all systems, products, and services to client specifications/requirements.
Enquire, consult and coordinate with client & consultant representatives for specification/ technical and BOQ clarifications required for tenders and proposals.
Good computer skills with basic knowledge of AutoCAD and good in Microsoft Office.
To undertake full responsibility for quantity surveying activities on allocated contracts, from contract award to agreement of final account, with the objective to maintain financial control of contracts and to increase profitability and cash flow for the Company.
Prepare monthly financial reports and project cash-flow charts.
Accurate costing of claims/valuations and variations are key to this objective and must remain paramount in work ethics.
Prepare and submit monthly valuation applications in time and follow-up on approval of all Invoices.
Calculate and update costs associated with original contract works and all variations to contract on an ‘as we proceed’ basis.
Assist the Project Manager with advice on contractual rights, remedies and methods of redress on accelerations, project variations, delays and extension of time, BOQ items and its measurement mode for payment.
Assist the Project Manager in preparation of financial claims and settlements.
Management of Sub-contractor packages mainly on monitoring payments, variations and final account settlement.
