Description: This leading Hospital is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst for a permanent role based in Qatar.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Management Accountant in the financial management operations of the Centre including establishment of financial systems and control; financial and budgetary management; cost-efficient operations; achievement of strategic and financial targets and utilisation management.

He / she shall be responsible for establishing open and effective lines of communication and collaborative working relationships at all levels of the Centre’s operations. This includes the Finance Department, clinical and non-clinical divisions and other key stakeholders, inside and outside the Centre.

Role Summary

• Assist in the financial management operation of the Hospital by supporting the Management Accountant with a range of accounting and administrative functions.
• Assist in identifying budgetary and financial issues within the hospital.
• Assist the Management Accountant with budgetary and financial issues that impact the strategic plans of the Divisions and Hospital.
• Establish effective communication strategies fostering open and effective lines of communication and collaborative working relationships at all levels of the hospital.
• Foster collaborative working relationships within the Finance Department, clinical and non clinical divisions and other key stakeholders, inside and outside the hospital.
• Assist in facilitating the analysis of available, new and emerging technologies that will assist the Finance Department to improve service delivery.
• Assist in maintaining, running and updating the financial system of the hospital.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Support financial management of the divisions through the monthly monitoring and analysis of financial results, forecasts and performance.
• Strengthen management decision making through the production of timely and accurate monthly management reports for senior managers.
• Work collaboratively with the other finance members in reviewing the end-of-month accounting process.
• Assist in the development of scorecard reporting.
• Assist in developing business cases for capital purchases.
• Lease vs buy cases.
• Assist in the development and review of monthly labour cost information.
• Assist in the development and review clinical costing data.
• Responsible for providing financial assistance to operational divisions of the hospital.
• Develop and monitor financial and non-financial KPI’s.
• In collaboration with line managers, assist with budget formulation, preparation and allocation to achieve strategic goals.
• Gather financial information from various sources and prepare monthly journal entries ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assisting with financial reporting by preparing the month-end reporting package, financial analysis, preparation of internal and external reports.
• Assist Divisional customers by responding to and addressing general accounts queries and enquiries.
• Assist the financial accounting process by reviewing and analysing monthly accounts and reconciling accounts ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist the accounting for all special purpose funds.
• Ensure compliance with internal authorisations and approval processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and guidelines.


To apply you will have 1 to 2 years working experience with a Bachelor of Accountancy or ACCA (or equivalent).

You will also have demonstrated experience in the monitoring of financial performance, preparing user- friendly financial performance reports for management and reporting on budget variances.
