| Description: |
To lead the site electrical & controls activities including organising and supervising the installation of new plant and equipment associated with chocolate confectionery production and support functions such as utilities and building services. In addition, the job holder should be an expert and holder of knowledge associated with new electrical installations, advising maintenance and operation colleagues on solving difficult problems, and identifying and implementing improvement projects.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Design & execution of complex investment projects from conceptualisation and planning through to implementation, observing the interests of other major departments. Management of execution internal and external permitting approval processes, including dealing with DEWA (local authorities), legal and professional entities.
2. Act as the site leader for electrical & controls, defining standards & ensuring all executed projects are in line with the site electrical & control strategy.
3. Develop site strategy for electric & Controls & ensure all executed projects are in line with the developed strategy.
2. Review and selection of equipment, machinery, processes and systems with reference to project business objectives and conformance to technical and safety standards.
3. Negotiation with contract engineering companies to agree service or equipment contracts observing delivery time, price and performance requirements Closing of contracts together with commercial.
4. Identification, review and selection of contract electrical construction engineering contractors on the basis of technical fit for purpose, cost and capability to conform to project timing and performance objectives. Training and development of these firms to bring their management, designers and technicians up to the professional standards required in technical, managerial and safe working areas.
5. Direct management and assurance of problem-free installation work in parallel to running production equipment. Co-ordination of contract company work and control of their associates under the conditions of the contract.
6. Planning, organisation and execution of systems and equipment related training for technical and operational associates.
7. Origination and permanent upkeep of project plans with respect to delivery times, installation plans and Production acceptance requirements. Agreement of planned and running projects with all key departments.
8. Assurance of conformity of all electrical and control systems, new and existing, to internal standards, safety legislation, and environmental protection.
9. Responsibility for ensuring all required permitting and legal documentation for new production equipment is completed prior to commissioning.
10. Assurance of continual manual and/or automatic supervision of electrical energy supplies and distribution in the complete factory and execution as well as evaluation of measurements. Decision and implementation of measures against discovered failures and shortfalls.
11. Assurance of the continual availability of process control systems and power distribution systems in the whole works area and monitoring and evaluation all measurements. Decision and implementation of measures against discovered failures and shortfalls.
12. Identification of problem areas, technical shortfalls and analysis of problems as well as execution of solution concepts for optimisation of production equipment, with the objective of improvement of output, safety, environmental and economic considerations.
13. Responsibility for development of new To lead the site electrical & controls activities including organising and supervising the installation of new plant and equipment associated with chocolate confectionery production and support functions such as utilities and building services. 14. Budget responsibility for whole or pre-defined elements of approved investment project budgets and taking measures to ensure there are no deviations from the planned budget.
15. Authorisation of Contract work to implement electrical systems and equipment. Control of authorised personnel and regular involvement in safety reviews and related training.
16. Provision of plans for future development of specific production areas
Identifying engineering and plant and equipment suitable for manufacturing products as required
17. Updating all relevant documentation & drawings as necessary, to include PLC backupos, Single Line Diagrams and P&IDs.
18. Identify gaps in electrical & control capability in factgory, develop & lead training & development plans for shift & maintenanace electricians as per the identified gaps.

IV Qualifications
1. Bsc in electrical (electronics) engineering from a reputable college
2. Very good understanding power and controls systems and electrical instruments
3. Must have basic project management experience.
Experience & Technical Skills
1. Worked for at least the last 4 to 5 year in an industrial factory.
2. Good hands on experience with mechanical systems and machinery, and machine installations.
3. Confident in integrating different control systems through SCADA, and needs to be preferably proficient with Wonderware – Intouch software.
4. Capable to design and implement control and logic structure for new processes from scratch. A firm knowledge of PLC programming with Siemens S-7 is required. Other PLC programming language will be a plus.
5. A firm experience and knowledge of frequency inverters and communication protocols (Ethernet and Profibus) is required.
6. Detailed knowledge and experience of International standards and directives related to all aspects of electrical, control, automation and manufacturing equipment and systems.
(IEE regulations/BS7671, directive 73/23/EEC Low voltage, EN 60204-1 Safety of machinery, EN418 Safety of machinery Emergency stop equipment, etc.).
7. Good knowledge of control and electrical systems, ability to design systems.
8. Good programming skills.
9. Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, other utility and mechanical systems.
10. Good knowledge and practical experience of the following systems: Siemens S7-200,
300, 400; Simatic HMI OP7, MP270, OP37; Indramat servo systems; Control
Techniques inverters and servo systems; InTouch SCADA from Wonderware; Industrial
Networks (profibus DP, Ethernet, MPI); Allen Bradly PLCs and servo systems.
11. Has a wide range of electrical knowledge, from power intake and distribution systems (HV and LV panels, Transformers, Switchgears, Distribution panels, cable sizing etc.), motion control systems, analogue and digital sensors, control and actuator systems, and operator interface units.
12. Good understanding of electro-mechanical and P&ID drawings.
13. Good knowledge of single line diagrams and power distribution systems
14. Installed and commissioned new procesees and machinery in the past
15. Worked in a multinational FMCG company, preferably in a food or confectionery plant.
