Senior Engineer
A sales-driven company operating in the growth markets of material handling, distribution and automation, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development of motorized roller product design from initiating new concepts to implementation. Primary duties include managing R&D as well as support for current products to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives. The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering plus at least five years of similar or related experience with at least three years of prior management experience. Advanced electrical and mechanical skills, strong communication skills, and experience with motor control are required.

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Direct department activities to initiate new products and modify existing designs.
2. Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
3. Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
4. Confer with management, production, materials and product managers to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
5. Assist with forecasting operating costs of department and preparation of budget request.
6. Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
7. Provide direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities.
8. Support improvements in production techniques and assist with development of test procedures.
9. Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
10. Look for ways to improve processes, products and services in the Engineering Department.
11. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
