Our client is an international ship management group seeking a technical superintendent for its Cyprus location.
The right candidate will have relevant onboard experience as a chief engineer as well as having worked ashore as a superintendent responsible for oil/chemical tankers and/or LPG vessels. Similar work experience will be taken into consideration. This superintendent must be results-orientated and aware of the importance of good communication skills in English, both within the company and towards the owner-clients. Customer orientation with a strong affinity for safety and quality management is required. This position has wide-ranging authority and responsibility within the company, managing the ship as a total system - not just as an engine room with attachments - so good analytical skills and a feeling for figures and cost control are essential.
Your key responsibilities:
Ensure that the vessels are maintained, operated safely, efficiently and economically as per company procedures through close contact with the senior officers, onboard inspections and supervision
Make sure that the maintenance planning, execution and control are carried out in accordance with good practice and company standards. Ensure that the maintenance record keeping is carried out correctly in the Planned Maintenance System
Monitor unscheduled repairs, communicate your experience to other vessels and with the fleet manager/director and the other superintendents
Ensure that vessels receive supplies and spare parts as necessary
Ensure that vessels follow relevant regulations
Ensure that the company`s Planned Maintenance System is used correctly and kept updated
Monitor the condition of the vessels during inspections and report as per the company procedures and clients`/owners` requirements
Prepare, supervise, document and follow-up on dry-dockings
Prepare and monitor vessel budgets. The superintendent is responsible for the vessels’ compliance with the budgets for technical operations
Monitor and report personnel performance and training needs to the personnel director
Keep abreast of new developments in the technical field
Other special tasks and projects as per the fleet manager`s instructions

| Capacités Requises: |
Your qualifications:
Minimum three years’ experience in a similar position; for example, as a superintendent for oil/chemical/product/gas tankers and/or LPG vessels, preferably with a ship manager
Interest in working with quality systems such as ISM and ISO 9000
Experience with oil major vetting inspections
Experience in budget planning and control
Experience in preparation and execution of dry-dockings
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to co-ordinate tasks and work under pressure
Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel)
In possession of a European passport or Schengen Visa and willing to travel abroad on a regular basis
