| Description: |
The European Network on Debt and Development in Brussels, is at the forefront of civil society efforts to ensure improved quality in aid delivery and fairer rules in international development financing to enable rapid poverty reduction. It is offering an exciting and challenging position to assure the financial management of the secretariat office, assist the Director with HR issues and supervise office management.
Financial management (75% of time)
· Prepare & manage organisational and project budgets.
· Prepare quarterly financial reporting to the board and reports to reports
to funders (including the EC, governments, Eurodad members, private
foundations).
· Identify potential funders and helping the director prepare and deliver
funding proposals and coordinate fund raising strategy.
· Under-take and supervise follow up of dealings with suppliers,
members, staff, consultants, banks, accountant and auditor: from
negotiating the contracts, to checking and paying the invoices.
Personnel and office management (15% of time)
· Manage the work of an administration support staff member
· Oversee salary processing and payment in liaison with the relevant
external agencies
· Coordinate recruitment processes
· Manage team HR issues, travel, insurances, holiday database and
internal event scheduling
· Oversee the smooth running of the office.
· Monitor changes to relevant procedures and regulations and assist
Director to ensure staff, providers, and consultants fulfil dministrative
and financial requirements, including reporting to statutory bodies.
Board and events (10% of time)
support
· Manage the financial side of major events organised by Eurodad,
including negotiating and following up with major suppliers.
· Support Director to convene and manage board meetings.
· Other communications and logistical support as required.

| Capacités Requises: |
1) Essential experience:
3 years work experience in finances
Work experience in project management
Writing financial reports and being able to present them
Open, versatile, effective and persuasive communications and negotiating skills
2) Desirable experience:
1 year work experience in human resources
1 year work experience in fund raising
Work on EC funded NGO projects
Living or working in an international environment
3) Required aptitudes, skills and knowledge:
Understanding of the concept of cost centre systems with some knowledge of accountancy software
Very capable in Excel
Ability to present and manage budgets
Very good command of English and French
Good knowledge of the non profit sector (asbl, NGO)
Computer literate in other main Office applications
Ability to delegate and to use own initiative and work independently
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
Excellent inter-personal skills
Ability to comprehend balance sheets
Attention to detail
4) Desirable Aptitudes, skills and knowledge:
Ability to understand and speak Dutch or Spanish
Being able to translate small documents into French and English
Understanding of relevant Belgian legislation
5) Willingness to travel occasionally.
